Hey everyone. Hope I posted this under the right forum heading.
I recently acquired a Yamaha VL70m and a Yamaha WX-5 from someone who had taken really good care of both of them. I'm excited to learn how to play a wind instrument through synthesis, and I want to take a crack at creating sounds on the VL70m. Of course, the user-interface is a bit of a disaster to program any patches on, so I went looking for a MIDI editor that I can use as a plugin from my DAW. This naturally led me to Midi Quest 13, which boasts an extensive list of supported hardware synths (and an extensive price tag to boot
). Unfortunately, it requires iLok to run, which I view as a big no-no, for reasons I won't get into at the moment, as that could be (and has been) a separate topic of discussion.
Are there any comparable editors/midi librarians that do not require iLok?
Thanks in advance for any help.
